Unimportant but urgent
Today is a day to find the energy to do the boring stuff; admin, paperwork, fixing up minor DIY projects, ordering refills and replacements online e.t.c. It's the perfect day for it. The markets are boring with everything moving sideways. The weather is boring with thick grey clouds overhead - not that inspiring for getting out, and not enough light coming in to create visual content.
Days like this one are ironically my most productive. With no exception and no pressure, I tend to go out there and give my all anyway. On any other day, especially if sunny outside, the boring tasks before me would be so daunting. My mindset now is that of having no other choice but to do the task at hand. That makes it a lot easier.
The tasks I'm clearing today are the ones in the "unimportant but urgent" quadrant. The important and urgent stuff is done. The important but not urgent stuff is half done. I'm probably never going to get to the unimportant and not urgent quadrant. Segmenting tasks this way really works, I can verify that. Right, off to do boring stuff.
Peace & Love,
Adé
A useful tool for getting through ... segmenting tasks ... thank you for the reminder!
It really works. I'm always surprised how many things end up in the unimportant-non urgent segment :)
