My Cleaning Activity For Thursday, the 30th of May, 2024.

Good day, fellow hivers, welcome to my blog. Today I carried out my cleaning activity very late because I was recovering from malaria, we need to keep our environment clean to avoid this kind of avoidable occurrence. The environment was littered with different wastes.

Waste collection and disposal in our communities must be a team effort, both at the household and the family level. Our leaders should concentrate on removing waste from the household. Recycling materials in plastic, polythene bags, glass, and so on is a safe way to start keeping our environment clean. On highways, an average citizen drops their water sachets, biscuits, nylon, bottled, or canned drinks containers, and candy packs by the roadside, in boarded vehicles, or by the sea, and it's high time for citizens to avoid indiscriminate waste disposal.

When our environment is unclean, we are all at the receiving end, because the area will become a breeding ground for disease-causing pathogens like bacteria, viruses, and parasites. Flies, rats, and other vectors attracted to the waste can transmit these disease-causing organisms to humans, leading to outbreaks of infectious diseases such as cholera, malaria, typhoid fever, and diarrhoea.
