Unveiling The No-Go Zone

People underestimated the power of the government because they believed that when they made a decision, the government would quickly reverse it and we wouldn't have to suffer as a result.

There are lots of things the government has banned based on their selfishness but because we don't have the power to question them we just have to live by whatever we have with us. And there are lots of things that shouldn't be in existence but because they gain from it they overlook it and we as a citizen don't have the power to control that decision.

To me, I think the importation of rice is one thing the government has taken from us that is weighing a lot of households down as we speak. About 10 years ago, we complained that rice is expensive even though we are seeing it as we want. During the reign of the last President of Nigeria, the price of rice skyrocketed but still, the condition is not as bad as the one we are facing currently.

I think what is killing this country is greed because the person on the chair wants more and he forgot that citizens are suffering from their actions.

Now to talk of how important rice is to the next generation, some children don't like any other food except rice. Meanwhile, their parents can't afford it because of how expensive rice is now.

Rice is one of the most consumed foods in Nigeria which is very clear to the government and yet they banned the importation of that rice, isn't that clear that the government doesn't care about how bad their decision is for the citizens?

If someone like me has the power to change that decision I won't hesitate to do so because I don't like seeing people suffering.
Yet we keep seeing some guys smoking weeds all around the country as if we don't have a government that could control the importation of the weeds.

I live in a very busy area where there are a lot of guys, who smoke in broad daylight and I keep wondering if smoking weed has been legalized in my country.

There was a time a police officer came to my hood to meet a guy who is popularly known to be a weed seller, at first we all thought that he came to arrest him but then he only came to flex with the guy, and when he left people started asking themselves how come a police officer is visiting a weed seller without arresting him.

I wasn't surprised because the government law enforcement are the ones violating the law and the funniest part is that those at the top know about it and that is why I couldn't ban something like weed in my country.

And yet the most important thing that is very useful for the people in the country is being banned, that is to show that they only care about what is coming to their side and not how people survive. I wish I had the power to control those wrong decisions, I would have done it a long time ago and we won't have to get to where we are now in this country.
