The Dilemma Of Breaking Rules
Violating rules is what I always avoid because I don't like facing panels at the end of everything. I wonder what the world would look like without rules. Humans generally don't like following rules. Now imagine if there were no rules at all. The world will be in chaos.
I work in a company that has so many rules and regulations because we deal with construction. If there are no rules I am very certain that most people that work there wouldn't do their work the way they should do it.
I can't say I have never violated the rules but I always caution myself from every rule I know about. But there is someone so close to me at work that violates the company's rules and that almost got me into trouble as well because I never knew how far he went.
We were asked to supervise a project together, and that week I wasn't feeling too good so informed him about it. He was kind enough to ask me to stay back at home so that I could take medication and feel good before resuming work.
I was glad that I had someone I could rely on so I didn't bother telling the management I wasn't feeling well. One week passed and there was no complaint about the road project, but after 3 weeks the rumor of taking the remaining material home surface at the office.
While I was on the field, the rumours got to me and I couldn't think of anything other than to ask my partner what happened, he lied to me that nothing like that happened while I was away.
The next day, we were both called to the office and asked what happened. I didn't have a choice but to tell the truth about myself, not around all through the work.
When it was my partner's turn to explain, he lied again, meanwhile, our boss had proof of where he was moving the material.
Thank God for the proof, if not I would have been sacked for the rules I never violated. I got a query for not letting the management know I was absent all through.
Ever since then I never trusted anyone with my work because it is against the company's policy to take leftover material or steal from the company.
If they didn't have that picture of my partner moving the material, I wouldn't have proved myself right because there was nothing that would stop the management from sacking both of us.
This is a very hardworking guy, he doesn't joke with his work but I don't know what prompted him to steal from the company, knowing the consequences of what he was doing. Immediately he was sacked. I realized that nobody is above the rules and there is no one violating rules that can't be punished.
Later, the road he managed the materials for so he could take the remainder became spoiled, and I was called upon to supervise it once more. Looking over the road, I saw that some items were left undone, which contributes to how quickly the road deteriorates.

Hello there! Breaking rules is not my thing. I’m more of a good boy. Haha. I prefer to do the right thing rather than face the consequences of my actions. I’ve always been like this since elementary school.
