It is getting hotter again!

I can remember very well that when I was younger, the summer heat didn't bother me much. The hotter, the more beautiful and better! Grilling my skin in the sun on the beach of a lake was often a pleasure, even if it sometimes resulted in a painful sunburn.
Today, at my advanced age, I avoid the heat as often as I can. And especially the last years with the increasing temperatures in summer around 30 degrees Celsius and much more, I feel the heat as a great burden for my body.
We are heading for a heat record again in the coming days!
Ich kann mich sehr gut daran erinnern, dass mir in jungen Jahren die sommerliche Hitze nicht viel ausgemacht hat. Je heißer, desto schöner und besser! In der Sonne am Strand eines Sees meine Haut zu grillen, war oft ein Vergnügen, auch wenn es manchmal einen schmerzhaften Sonnenbrand zur Folge hatte.
Heute, in meinem fortgeschrittenen Alter, meide ich die Hitze so oft ich nur kann. Und gerade die letzten Jahre mit den steigenden Temperaturen im Sommer um die 30 Grad Celsius und noch viel mehr, empfinde ich die Hitze als große Belastung für meinen Körper.
Wir steuern die kommenden Tage wieder auf einen Hitzerekord zu!

It was 40c here in London this week. Just too hot.
