Fungi Friday : Pleurocybella Porrigens

Hallo..good afternoon mushroom hunter friends wherever you are, we have arrived again on Friday. I hope all my friends here are in good health always.

Looking for mushrooms during the rainy season is very easy, it only takes a little effort from us to find them. But when summer comes, it is very difficult for us mushroom lovers to find mushrooms. It takes a lot of effort for us to find it, like going through small forests that are quite far from our homes. Not to mention the challenges that we will face after we arrive in the forest, examples of mosquitoes and reptiles or other wild animals.

As usual, on this occasion I will donate a photo of the Pleurocybella Porrigens mushroom that I met on the Sukma Bangsa School page. I found out the name of this mushroom after I matched the photo on Google Lens, and looked for a photo that was as similar as possible. So I got a photo of a mushroom that matches the mushroom I found, namely Pleurocybella Porrigens.

The mushroom Pleurocybella Porrigens is a species of fungus in the family Marasmiaceae. This species is widely distributed in the temperate forests of the Northern Hemisphere. Pleurocybella porrigens, also known as angel wings, is a white rot wood rot fungus on coniferous wood, mainly hemlock (genus Tsuga). The flesh is thin and crumbly compared to the oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ssp). While Pleurocybella Porrigens was once considered edible, in the early 21st century, this was later questioned because of the deadly poisoning associated with its consumption. Synonyms for Pleurocybella porrigens include Pleurotus porrigens, Phyllotus porrigens, Dendrosarcus porrigens, Pleurotellus porrigens, and Nothopanus porrigens.
