The unifying effect of coffee

It's amazing how over the years my parents have maintained the custom of having coffee in the afternoon. Preferably they accompany it with bread but these days I found them accompanying the coffee with empanadas. Normally the empanadas are usually eaten with a juice, however, on this occasion I realized that coffee has no rival. No matter if there is bread or not, I found that my parents not only enjoy coffee with any meal but they love it.

My dad with his blue mug and my mom with her red mug are the perfect team when it comes to coffee. Sometimes my dad makes the coffee and other times my mom, I must admit they both make delicious coffee but I prefer the one my mom makes because it feels less strong. Regardless of who makes it, they enjoy their longed-for coffee with their respective cups every afternoon. It is nice to come home and find them together talking about any topic with a radiant smile that easily spreads.

As you may notice, my parents have a daily appointment every afternoon with their beloved coffee. And they are so hospitable that anyone who comes home at that time will also have coffee and enjoy a pleasant conversation with them. I am usually not at home in the afternoons, so I miss these encounters that have become a delightful routine. When I can, I join them but I only drink a little bit of coffee, they drink up to three cups. I don't go that far because I get hyperactive, but they drink it calmly and have no negative effects, they feel relaxed.

Undoubtedly, coffee is a great host that keeps many relationships together and even becomes the perfect excuse to stop for a moment in the day and share in very good company. My parents have always been very close because of the great love they have for each other and also because they have in common a great passion for coffee. So coffee is a must at home, it is indispensable at dinner and the few times it has been missing, they have been left wanting to enjoy that afternoon full of exquisite communication. They sit at the table like every afternoon to talk but they say that without coffee it is never the same, therefore, at home there must not be missing that spark of coffee that gives sweetness and warmth to the afternoons of my parents.

When there is genuine love in the family, it doesn't take much to date. I learned that from my parents, with a nice atmosphere and a good coffee everything is solved.
