Hello people, how are you, I hope that today I share with you the drawing I made of an incredible painter from Spain! Diego Velázquez is one of the most important artists, he is known for his realistic portraits and his surprisingly masterful technique. One of his most famous self-portraits is the Bust Self-Portrait, which is currently in the Museum of Fine Arts of Valencia. This painting was made around 1640 and is the only surviving autographed self-portrait of the artist.

Diego Velázquez es uno de los artistas más importantes, es conocido por sus retratos realistas y su técnica sorprendentemente magistral. Uno de sus autorretratos más famosos es el Autorretrato de busto, que está ahora mismo en el Museo de Bellas Artes de Valencia. Este cuadro se realizó alrededor de 1640 y es el único autorretrato autografiado que se ha conservado del artista.
The painting shows Velázquez in a short bust, with a white shirt and a black jacket. His dark haired look piercing, his head tilted slightly to the right. The artist is represented with his well-groomed beard and mustache. El cuadro muestra a Velázquez en un busto corto, con una camisa blanca y una chaqueta negra. Su cabello oscuro mirada penetrante, con la cabeza levemente inclinada hacia la derecha. El artista se representa con su barba y bigotes bien cuidados. La obra es un ejemplo del estilo barroco, caracterizado por la exageración de las formas y la utilización de la luz y la sombra para crear profundidad y dramatismo. El autorretrato de Velázquez es una obra que ha sido muy estudiada y analizada por parte de expertos en el arte. Se especula que ha influenciado a varios artistas.
As for my drawing, although it is true that it has some differences from the original, such as the position of the head and the gaze, I do not have as much mastery in the art as this legendary painter, it can be said that I capture the essence of the painting . Right here you can see my process and progress in creating this drawing. Among Velázquez's most famous works, I can mention the painting “Las Meninas,” which represents the Spanish royal family in the 17th century. In the painting we can see Velázquez also painting himself in the painting. The masterpiece is the artist's ability to capture the essence of his own being and his unique baroque style. En cuanto a mi dibujo, si bien es cierto que tiene algunas diferencias en cuanto al original, como la posición de la cabeza y la mirada, no tengo tanta maestría en el arte como este pintor legendario, se puede decir que capturo la esencia del cuadro. Aquí mismo pueden ver mi proceso y progreso en la creación de este dibujo. Entre las obras más famosas de Velázquez puedo dar mención al cuadro de “las Meninas” ese cuadro representa a la familia real española en el siglo XVII. En el cuadro podemos ver a Velázquez pintándose también en el cuadro. La obra maestra la habilidad del artista para capturar la esencia de su propio ser y su estilo barroco único.
